Is a website still relevant these days?

Introduction to The Website Club and taking the first step....

In this intro video, I welcome you to The Website Club and explain a little bit about it and who I am/what’s my experience.

I’ll also be covering;

  • Are websites still relevant to businesses in this age of social media?

  • Should you self-build a website?

  • What goes into a good website?

  • What’s the first step before starting to build a website?

I may know a lot about small business websites but I’m definitely not a seasoned video-maker and so there will be the odd mistake here and there, and I lose my voice towards the end so apologies in advance 🙃

Setting Goals

Thinking about your long term plans for the website will influence the choices you make now. For example, if you’re looking to add an e-shop later on, does the platform you want to build on let you add that functionality simply, or would you need to rebuild the whole website?

So here we have space for you to start thinking about what you might want or need in the future. Of course, by year 5 you may want to have rebuilt the website anyway, but that doesn’t necessarily mean moving platforms, especially if you have built up lots of content and search engine ranking.

And, think about the intent of the website. I.e. what does it add to your business? Is it just a sales tool, will it provide information to your customers, will it showcase your skills and expertise....

How will you measure the success of the website?
